The TalentBank concept was conceived and developed by Mr. Sre Goonesingha, Founder of Talent Bank, as the result of extensive economic research rather than theoretical speculation.
In September 2006, Mr. Sre Goonesingha co-authored and presented the research paper "TalentBank and Its Future in the global Market" at the International Research Conference on Management for Growth and Development (IRCMGD-2006), held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, Colombo, under the guidance of the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo.
This presentation represented a significant milestone in the evolution of the concept. The academic community acknowledged that the TalentBank model offered practical solutions to several structural challenges in the global economy, including excessive dependence on cash, underutilized business capacity, rising unemployment, and the competitive disadvantages faced by small and medium-sized enterprises.
Building upon this strong academic foundation, Worldshine Lanka developed a comprehensive operational framework consisting of membership structures, transaction procedures, trade voucher systems, and the Talent Trading Programme (TTP)-a model that has successfully supported member businesses in expanding their commercial opportunities for many years.
Today, this proven economic model is entering its next stage of evolution. Through the integration of blockchain technology and smart contract automation, the Talent Card is being transformed into a secure, transparent, and globally scalable digital platform while preserving the principles that have guided its success since inception.
